I use vibrant colors in my work because I
believe color to be extremely powerful in healing and inspiring one’s body and
soul.
How color affects us…
· Color influences our
mood and emotions.
· Color has an impact on
our sense of well-being.
· Wearing certain colors
is a way of self-expression; it sheds light on our personality.
· Colors affect our way
of perception (light colors make a space look big, a high ceiling looks less
high when painted in a dark color, etc.)
· Colors have a symbolic
meaning which is immediately recognized by our sub consciousness.
· Color influences the
flow of energy in our bodies.
Color can help jump-start the tired or
diseased body. Color healing, known as Chromo
therapy, can be implemented in a number of ways. The ancients built great
halls of color healing, where individuals entered and were bathed in light that
was filtered through various colored glass panels or windows.
Blue – the universal color of healing, if you are feeling unwell
visualize yourself wrapped in a soft blue blanket or surrounded in blue.
Green – denotes peace,
helps stem anxiety and brings calm. Helps in balancing the body and spirit.
Visualize walking barefoot on soft lush grass that is warm from the sun.
Red – the color of
vitality and stimulation. Needs to be used with care as it can also bring
anger. Great to use sparingly if someone is suffering from depression or great
fatigue.
Pink – the color of
affection and love. Aids in sadness. Visualize yourself in your soft blue
blanket and imagine soft threads of pink being woven through it.
Purple – promotes strength
and growth both physically and spiritually. Visualize the water in your shower
purple cascading down all over you.
Brown – earth, home grounding, endurance and stability. Visualize
yourself sitting with your feet filling with the color brown and going down
into the earth.
